What is a Dental Bridge?
Bridges span the space created when teeth are missing. A bridge may be recommended if you’re missing one or more teeth. A bridge is made up of two (or more) crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap with a false tooth or teeth in between. Dental bridges are supported by natural teeth or implants. Gaps left by missing teeth eventually cause the remaining teeth to rotate or shift into the empty spaces, resulting in a bad bite.
The imbalance caused by missing teeth can also lead to gum disease and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.

Non-Removable Implant Supported Bridges
When several teeth in a row are missing, they can be replaced by a bridge anchored to implants. An implant is not needed for each tooth being replaced. Three or four teeth can be replaced with just two dental implants for support. This is less expensive than placing an individual implant for each tooth being replaced.
Dental implants provide several advantages over other teeth replacement options.
In addition to looking and functioning like natural teeth, implant-supported bridges replace teeth without support from adjacent natural teeth.
Additionally dental implants are strong and can support the biting forces of several teeth when they are anchored together.
Because implant-supported bridges will replace some of your tooth roots, your bone is better preserved. With a fixed bridge or removable partial denture, the bone that previously surrounded the tooth root may begin to resorb (deteriorate). Dental implants integrate with your jawbone, helping to keep the bone healthy and intact.
In the long term, implants look better, function better and are more comfortable.
Crown Supported Dental Bridge?
A bridge is made up of two (or more) crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap. These two or more anchoring teeth are called abutment teeth with a false tooth or teeth in between. Dental bridges are supported by natural teeth or implants.
A dental bridge consists of two crowns, which are attached and anchor the the replacement tooth in between.
These two crowns are cemented to the abutments - the natural teeth on either side of the empty space and act as anchors for the replacement tooth.
As with crowns, you have a choice of materials for bridges. Our dentist can help you decide which to use, based on the location of the missing tooth (or teeth), its function, aesthetic considerations and cost. Porcelain or ceramic bridges can be matched to the color of your natural teeth.

I went in last week after a long time of avoiding the dentist. I walked in, was greeted by name and anxiously awaited for my visit to be over(because, you know, it's the dentist). Everyone that works at WisconsinSmiles is kind and that is an understatement. Literally everyone that works at this place is pretty much the nicest ever. The gal at intake complimented my eyes and then told me a story about how she found her lost cat that ran away from MKE (they found the cat in Green Bay).
Another admin/staff member went out of her way to look up night guard pricing without even being asked, since I apparent grind my teeth when I sleep (go figure... )
Everything is transparent - they quote you a price for the work you need done based on your insurance coverage. They also walk you through what's going to happen with any procedures, answer questions...

I had to bring my 3 year old daughter with for my consultation and Dr. Monteagudo’s wife and other staff members were simply wonderful to her. The professionalism and kindness of Dr. Monteagudo is unique and over the limits. He explains everything with many details and is very clear in what he says without hiding anything at all. In this office there is an incredibly good atmosphere. The contact with the patients is one of excellent quality and they treat you as if you were in family. The staff is very well trained and super friendly. They do the job with a lot of professionalism and knowledge. Neli and Sasha are great people and their sense of humor is super good. I've dreaded going to the dentist my entire life after some not so great experiences when I was a child. I've been going somewhere else for quite some time and just never felt that dentist knew what they were doing and it turns out I was right. There is no way I could say enough about Dr. M and his staff!! I had 2 horrible traumatic experiences with dentists as a child that had me terrified of going in. Between that and being a relatively broke young adult, going to the dentist was something I avoided. At 28 years old, I no longer felt comfortable even smiling, let alone laughing. I spent a lot of time practicing a smile for pictures that barely showed my teeth and covering my mouth constantly.
When my mom passed and left me a little money, I decided that it was time to suck it up and get my mouth in order. Losing her had me not much in a smiling mood, but I knew she would want me to smile and laugh again as soon as possible. Dr. M and Lisa and the rest of the staff sat there while I fought back tears about both losing my mom and my insecurity with my teeth. They actually listened and paid close attention to my fears about being in the dentist's chair.
I spent the next 6 months going in every 3-4 weeks for some procedure or another - I needed A LOT of work done. By my second appt the shaking and nausea I'd feel on the way to the dentist was gone. By my third appt all fear was pretty much gone. I completely trusted the entire staff.

I've been going to Wisconsin Smiles for quite a while now and the people there, both doctors and staff make you feel like family. The doctors seem very educated and skilled on the latest technology and are very willing to educate me and answer all of my questions regarding the work I needed. They really put my mind at ease. Another nice thing is that you don't have to wait. If your appointment is at 10:00 they see you at 10:00. That is really appreciated. I hate waiting.

Dr. Monteagudo is great. Had my implant procedure done and I didn't feel a pinch, not even after getting home when I expect to be hurting. Best part I was eating my normal meals with out any complications. The staff is very attentive, knowledgeable and helpful, every room is well organized and very clean. I really love the decor.

I was searching for a dentist that specialized in special needs pts. for my brother,John. I was so relieved when I found Dr. Monteagudo and his staff. Their respectful patience and caring of my brother impressed and touched me. Now John looks forward to his dental appointments and is eager to see his newly made friends. They greet him with smiles, his favorite relaxing tape and a warm blanket. My mom, who is 94, was so impressed that she asked me to schedule an appointment for her as well. She was frustrated with the poor condition of her teeth and with the fact that her dentist was not offering her any options due to age. The man worked his magic and my mom now has a healthy mouth with a great smile. Lastly I was so taken that I asked Dr. Monteagud to assess me for braces which another dentist said I could not do. I don't know where to start! The last time I was at a dentist was when you had to spit into a sink after they rinsed your mouth, let's say 25 years ago. Needless to say, even though I smiled alot, I always kept my lips together out of embarrassment! I was sooooo afraid to go to the dentist and if I did go, afraid they would look at me with disgust.
Dr. Monteagudo and his staff NEVER made me feel bad about the condition of my teeth, only gave me solutions. He and his entire staff are wonderful, each and every one of them. They treated me with respect and kindness and immediately took away my fears.
I now have a BEAUTIFUL smile and am so glad that I chose his practice! I never felt one bit of pain during any of my treatments and he did not pump me full of pills or gas. Always concerned how I was doing during treatments.

I came to Wisconsin Smiles upon the recommendation of a good friend after several years of disappointing treatment with another dentist. The staff at Wisconsin Smiles is cordial and warm, making you feel like family when you are there. Dr. Monteagudo and Dr. Hickson are master dentists -- and they really care about making you comfortable during your treatment. My teeth haven't felt this good in years. Shortly after I made the switch, my wife and two daughters also left their dentists. As my 12-year old daughter said to me today after getting a filling, "I didn't know that it could go so fast and not hurt that much." I only wish I new about Wisconsin Smiles earlier. They are the best!

I found Wisconsin Smiles online and I am glad I did. I had a consultation with them and right from the start I could tell they cared. Dr. Monteagudo and Dr. Hickson and the WHOLE staff were fantastic. They listened to me, talked to me, and were very understanding to my concerns.
A few days later I went back for my exam/cleaning and it was the best experience I have ever had at the dentist. The whole staff is friendly, professional, extremely competent and caring. I will be returning with much, much less anxiety in six months.

I had a root canal that needed to be fixed. After going to my family dentist of several years, they offered what they deemed to be the best option which was to give me a couple shots in the mouth and pull the tooth. Me being the chicken I am opted for a second opinion from someone who offered sedation dentistry which led me to Dr. Roberto Monteagudo. He got me in immediately and performed a sophisticated 3D like x-ray. After the x-ray, they took me to a private room and showed me exactly what the problem was on a large TV screen. This technology allowed him to take notice of two large abscessed on the bottom of my problem tooth (something my family dentist never seen). He prescribed some meds to rid the infection and referred me to a surgical specialists.
I would like to thank Dr. Monteagudo for his honesty and follow through after my surgery. There is no way this could have been done properly under a local anesthetic by my family dentist. He didn't even know how serious the abscess were not to mention...how much trouble this could have caused him once he began the procedure.
Bottom line...I am now finally smiling the way I used to smile and extremely happy to have found Dr. Monteagudo. He inserted a permanent implant into my mouth after my surgical procedure and I couldn't be happier. I didn't feel anything throughout this entire process and I know everything was done right. If you have ANY dental problems...trust me, Dr. Monteagudo and his staff really know their stuff.
I'm just a regular dude who can't stand sitting in a dental chair. This was the first 100% thumbs up major dental experience I've ever had and I will never fear the chair again. Thanks again Dr. Monteagudo!
